The Border Book Festival is a non-proft literary, literacy and arts organization based in New Mexico. Tired of their old monochromatic business cards, they asked our designers to incorporate their love of bright colors in their new designs. Our designers infused vibrant colors and abstracted and enlarged their logo to created a visually interesting design.

Design Inspiration

Border Book Festival asked to use their logo and bright southwestern colors. The new festive version is a great fit for a company so close to the Mexican border.”

The colors and font carry the spirit of this organization. Books floating like balloons over a mesa cleaved by the Rio are fun and ironic.

I like the green. It is bright and signifies rejuvenation – what books do.

Very much like all color selections, particularly the green and blue. The print layout is very sharp and clear and easy to read and certainly merits recognition as the best so far.

Not clear how to vote for Border Book Festival.

Had to search thru 9 pages to find it, why no search,? [ after a long wait for link to open from home page.]

This is a clumsy setup for a company in this business.

Hi @fred w smith: There is a search bar located at the bottom right of each page–scroll all the way down. Hope this helps! :)

A thin border around the edge would give the image a sense of depth. Any of these vibrant colors would look nice with the pink back side.

  • Wonderful colors and design - perfect for a wonderful organization! August 14, 2010 Reply to

Your cards are very creative, beautiful and colorful. Wishing you the best of luck and success in your business endeavor!

I like the orange/ochre color, very southwest.

Wish there was a way to still include the mesa from the original logo (lower right side).

The mesa gives the design more dimension—an approach, to the mountains.
