It’s been almost two weeks since we officially launched The Business Card Project and our designers have been working hard to rid the world of boring business cards. We’ve received hundreds of applications, so many thanks to all those who’ve applied for a redesign–you’re keeping our designers nice and busy!

Since we’re a couple weeks into the contest, we thought this would be the perfect time to share some of our favorite makeovers. Loads of new designs have been added to the Gallery, but one of our personal favorites here at MOO HQ is a redesign for a company called Downtown Custom Printwear.

Downtown Custom Printwear is a screen-printing and embroidery shop located just outside Boston. They recently rebranded their logo and website, but had a difficult time translating their new look into business cards. Our designer, Michael, wanted to create a strong new look for DCP. He used their new logo as the primary design element by incorporating it into both the silhouettes and t-shirt designs on each card. In doing this, he was able to convey exactly what it is the company does.

We also like this redesign for Karley Doucette of She Sews Lovely, an Etsy seller who creates custom eco-friendly coffee sleeves.

Her old business cards did not reflect her business or the products she sells. So our designer, Snow, decided that the best way to promote Karley’s handmade products was to show them. Her new business cards are now personalized and feature a unique coffee sleeve on every one. Her new cards showcase her work, acting as both portfolio and product catalog, so she never misses a chance to show off her work.

Want to see more? Check out the Gallery for more design ideas and daily updates. And don’t forget to vote for your favorites, as we’ll be announcing a People’s Choice winner at the end of the contest. If you know someone who could use a business card makeover, the contest runs throughout August, so there’s still plenty of time to enter.

I just finished working with Max Fisher, the designer assigned to my business card project. He was great to work with and the entire process ran very smoothly. I’m thrilled with the results and can’t wait to see the cards when they are delivered in a few weeks.

Thanks moo.com! Something tells me I’ll be using you again soon.
